# Support & Contribution

> Get help with SCANOSS tools, request features, contribute to tools, and give back to the community.

## Support Channels

Our support team is available to assist with technical issues, deployment questions, and general enquiries.

### AI Assistant

For immediate guidance, use the [AI Assistant](?assistant=open) to get instant answers to common questions.

### Submit a Ticket

For urgent issues or specific support requests, submit a ticket through our
[Support Portal](https://support.scanoss.com/support/tickets/new) or contact
[SCANOSS support](mailto:support@scanoss.com).

> **When to use each channel:** Use the AI Assistant for quick questions and
> general guidance. Use the Support Portal for issues that require investigation,
> escalation, or a tracked response.

## Requesting Features

To submit a feature request, raise a ticket through our
[Support Portal](https://support.scanoss.com/support/tickets/new). No specific
format or template is required — describe the feature or improvement you would
like to see and include any relevant context.

## Contributing to SCANOSS Tools

Community contributions to SCANOSS tools are welcome. If there is a feature you
would like to see added, contributing it directly is the most effective way to
get it implemented.

To contribute to a SCANOSS tool:

1. Navigate to the [SCANOSS GitHub organisation](https://github.com/scanoss)
and locate the repository for the tool you want to contribute to.
2. Read the `CONTRIBUTING.md` file in that repository. It contains all
information about the contribution process for that tool.

> Each repository will have its own contribution guidelines. Always read the `CONTRIBUTING.md` for the specific tool you are working on before submitting a contribution.

## Contributing to Documentation

To report an issue with existing documentation or suggest new content — such as
a typo, an unclear instruction, or a missing section — submit a ticket through
our [Support Portal](https://support.scanoss.com/support/tickets/new).
